Professor Martine Cools is Full Professor at Ghent University and Head of the Paediatric and Adolescent Endocrinology and Diabetology Unit at Ghent University Hospital, Belgium.

She is an internationally recognized expert in Differences/Disorders of Sex Development (DSD), with research focusing on gonadal development, clinical management, and cancer risk. Professor Cools coordinates the Ghent University Hospital Centre for Sex Development and its multidisciplinary DSD team.

She has authored or co-authored more than 200 scientific publications and has held several leadership roles within ESPE and Endo-ERN, contributing extensively to European research networks and international consensus guidelines.
